Blakaman Dey (Day of Black Civilization) will this year  be celebrated on the 30th of  January at the “Bronsplein”.



This location was chosen because it is easily accessible to everyone. The celebration starts at 12 hours with a libation followed by an exhibition, named  "Black History". There will also be lectures and a cultural program consisting of performances by top music bands, like Naks Kasekoloko, App'tijt, United, Generals and Pruberi, Sweet Melody, Traffasi and Tooido. The purpose of the celebration of Blakaman Dey is to incite and empower the international role and significance of black civilization of the Surinamese  Africans.
