We have four newspapers, one of which is an evening paper. A few have included an English language section, the rest is in Dutch. There are also a number of different weekly and monthly magazines.
There are more than 10 radio stations, some of which broadcast in English, along with more than 10 TV stations. These broadcasts are generally in Dutch. Foreign stations, such as BBC and CNN are broadcasted at most hotels.
Our telecom infrastructure currently works well and covers approximately 90% of Suriname. You can purchase a SIM card upon arrival. You will see internet shops (cyber cafés) in many areas. Internet speed is not yet comparable to Western countries.
