Paramaribo has a very pleasant city centre with all sorts of shops and restaurants.  Don’t forget to visit the Central Market on the waterfront. There are two large shopping malls that are every bit as good as their Western counterparts.

There are plenty of supermarkets, and you can buy all sorts of domestic and international products.

Thanks to the number of shops (small supermarkets), you can go shopping until late in the evening. These shops have a very broad assortment that is not limited to food and beverages.
